Boston Embarrasses Raptors
The Celtics blew out the Raptors in Boston Wednesday in what looked to be an NBA team facing a high school squad. The final was a whopping 100 for the Celtics against a pathetic 64 put up by the Raptors. The win gets the Celtics above the .500 mark as they now carry a 11-10 record on the year. The defense really showed up, as did the offense, in a game that was borderline unbearable to watch. That is, unless you are a Celtics fan.
The Celtics were led by veteran Paul Pierce who had 17 in the contest. Pierce also led the team in assist with 8 while Bass contributed with a team-leading 9 rebounds. The Celtics held the Raptors under 20 points in each quarter as they averaged just 16 points per quarter. In the first quarter, alone, the Celtics outscored the Raptors 57-33. The Celtics are now 4.5 games back of Philadelphia for the division lead.
The Raptors were pathetic on the night and their best production came from Jerryd Bayless who scored just 14 on the day. Ed Davis got 12 rebounds to lead the team while Jose Caldron led all with 7 assists. The loss puts the Raptors at 7-16 this season and makes their away record 5-10 this season. The team is 9.5 games back in the division, which is led by the 76ers.
The Celtics showed that they still have some fire in their bellies and need to take this win into the rest of the season. Read more about Boston Embarrasses Raptors
