The Celtics lost a surprisingly ugly game Friday against a poor Raptor team. The final was 86-74 in favor of Toronto who moves to just 9-19 this season. More surprisingly, the win was just their 4th at home this season. Saying the Celtics were poor shooting on the day would be an extreme understatement and after a good win streak, they are showing more inconsistencies again. This was very evident with the loss Friday in a game they should have won.
The Celtics started off poorly and never looked back after a 14 point first quarter. The difference in the first proved to be enough, as the Celtics could not come back from the poor start. Kevin Garnett led the team in points with 17 and also added 8 rebounds to lead all. Rondo, as often times he does, led the team in assists with 7. The team only scored over 20 points in a quarter once in the fourth quarter when they scored 23. The loss moves their record to 14-12 this season and drops their away record to 4-5. It also moves them further away from first place as they have been trying to catch the 76ers.
The Raptors were led by Demar Derozan who scored 21 in the contest. Amir Johnson led the team in rebounds with 12 while Jose Calderon got an impressive 14 assists. Despite the win, the Raptors have one of the worst records in the league and are ten games back of first in their division.
