I know that anything short of a Super bowl victory is not going to satisfy the Belichick and Brady duo. Right now, the Patriots should be able to stay in Gillette Stadium all through the playoffs. I see them finishing the regular season with a 13-3 record by easily handling the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills at home in the coming weeks.

This Patriots team could go all the way. The offense makes up for the last-ranked defense in the National Football League. I mean this offense has to be in going at full force this season with Tight End Rob Gronkowski and Wide Receiver Wes Welker in the running for the league’s MVP. With Tom Brady again showing why he might just be the best quarterback in the NFL right now and Running Back Danny Woodhead and Tight End Aaron Hernandez ready to pick up the pieces in case the MVP candidates have a bad day, the New England Patriots need not have to worry about being outscored.
Chad Ochocinco has been rather quiet ever since being traded to the Pats, but he has definitely proven to be a great addition nonetheless. One thing to note is that the Patriots receiving corps has a lot of weapons and this is probably why Ochocinco and Superbowl MVP Deion Branch have had less individual production. Regardless, these guys are more concerned about the ultimate prize of a Superbowl ring rather than individual stats.
In the end, it boils down to the will and desire of the team. Brady’s motivation has been questioned by many of the football experts citing his financially secure personal life and legendary status. But let’s hope that the reason why the Pats have been unable to deliver the last few years after winning the AFC East crown is not due to a lack of desire, but because of who was just better on the day.
Update – New England defeated the Miami Dolphins 27-24 today. Brady and the Patriots were in trouble at halftime by being down 17-0, but were able to do really well in the second half to hold of the Dolphins and get some much needed rest with a first-round bye. However, the Steelers and the Ravens are in hot pursuit for the top seeding in the AFC with a 11-4 record each after picking up victories in their Christmas Eve games as well.
