Boston Team Losing on and off the Field

Boston Team Losing on and off the Field

The Red Sox problems are becoming very evident in recent days. Recently it was reported that there is a feeling that Bobby Valentine is not viewed too highly by some within the agency and that his days are numbered in Boston. This was reported by a very credible baseball guru who gets a lot of information out to the public before many else know. Adding to this dilemma on Thursday was a 5-0 shutout they suffered against the Twins at home. Currently their record stands at an even 53-53.

Boston is a team that always wants to win and win now. They are very used to making the playoffs, and their lack of success could easily mean the end for Valentine. On Thursday they had a very clear lack of success as they were unable to have any success from a Twins team that came into the game with just a 44-60 overall record. Boston got just 2 hits in the game as they were dominated by a Twins rookie pitcher. Lester was credited with the loss for Boston and is now just 5-9.

Minnesota relied heavily on their rookie pitcher Deduno in the win. He gave up just 2 hits in 8 innings of work and was easily putting away batters that seemed less than inspired. Deduno is now 3-0 on the season and looks to be one of the game’s better pitchers climbing up the ranks. Minnesota got 9 hits in all including a homer from Dozier to earn their 5 runs. They are now 45-60 on the season.
