Anytime these two AFC heavyweights clash, it makes for a big showdown and the stage doesn't get any bigger than Sunday Night Football. The last time these two football teams met was in the AFC Championship game last season that could have gone either way. Nothing much has changed since then. The Ravens will be looking for redemption after losing 23-20 in that game.
The Patriots will have to look out for Ray Rice and the many weapons that QB Joe Flacco has. The injury to Aaron Hernandez and Wes Welker getting less playing time means that New England is trying to find its feet with the offense. This is the last thing you want to do with the Ravens and that defense with Ed Reed, Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs.
Both teams come into Sunday night with a 1-1 record. The edge is really with the Ravens because they are at home in Baltimore this time. Those Ravens fans go wild and it will make it hard for Brady to call those plays and the Ravens defense will get after him. The point is that the Ravens defense has been getting the better off Tom Brady the last few encounters. It will be a physical game.
I know that both teams don't want to start with a 1-2 record, but I feel that the Ravens have more firepower on offense along with the much better defense. I see Baltimore getting the victory in this regular season extravaganza but it should be a close one.
